About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Anchor & Rise LLC (“Anchor & Rise,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Chirprise mobile application and related services (together, “Chirprise”). Chirprise is a social alarm application that lets people create alarms, complete Wake Missions, and exchange optional audio, video, and other morning content with trusted connections. Development builds may still display the former working name, Squawk; this policy applies to the same application and services under either name.

Information we collect

Account and profile information

We collect information needed to create and manage an account, such as your email address, username, display name, date of birth for age screening, authentication identifiers, profile image, and account preferences. If you choose to configure phone-based multi-factor authentication, our authentication provider also processes your phone number.

Alarm, wake, and social information

We process alarm schedules and settings, wake and snooze activity, Wake Mission results, streaks and other in-app progress, notification state, trusted-connection relationships, blocks, reports, and related social activity so Chirprise can provide its alarm and social features.

Content and media

When you choose to create or upload a Chirp, profile image, or other media, we process the audio, video, image, caption, recipient, and associated delivery information. Content you send is made available to the recipients you select and may be stored in our cloud services until it expires, is removed, or the associated account is deleted, depending on the feature and your choices.

Device, diagnostics, and usage information

We collect information such as device and operating-system details, app version, push-notification tokens, app interactions, alarm and feature events, performance information, and crash diagnostics. We use this information to deliver notifications, operate Chirprise, diagnose failures, understand feature use, and improve reliability. You can disable Firebase Analytics collection using Chirprise's privacy setting. Essential operational and security processing may continue.

Optional device permissions and connected data

• Camera, microphone, and photos: used only when you choose to record, select, or share media. If you enable sleep tracking with snore detection, microphone input is analyzed on the device; Chirprise may sync sleep summaries such as scores, counts, and timelines, but does not upload the underlying snore audio clips.
• Motion and activity: used for Wake Missions and related activity features. Sensor input may be processed on the device to determine mission progress.
• Health data: if you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, Chirprise reads the sleep information you authorize to show sleep context and may sync derived sleep summaries with your account. We do not use health data for advertising.
• Location: if you enable the optional dynamic weather feature, Chirprise sends your current latitude and longitude to Open-Meteo to retrieve local weather conditions. Chirprise does not maintain a location-history feature.

You can decline optional permissions or revoke them in your device settings. The related feature may then be unavailable.

How we use information

• Provide accounts, alarms, Wake Missions, Chirps, and social features.
• Schedule and deliver local and push notifications.
• Maintain subscriptions, entitlements, and in-app progress.
• Protect users, prevent abuse, and enforce reporting and blocking controls.
• Monitor crashes, troubleshoot failures, and improve Chirprise.
• Comply with law and protect the rights and safety of users and others.

When information is shared

We may share information in these limited circumstances:

• With people you choose: recipients and trusted connections can receive the profile details, Chirps, messages, and social activity you intentionally make available to them.
• With service providers: Google Firebase and Google Cloud provide authentication, databases, storage, messaging, analytics, crash reporting, app integrity, and server functions; RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play process purchase and entitlement information; Open-Meteo supplies optional weather data.
• For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, investigate abuse or fraud, or protect rights, safety, and security.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and deletion

We retain account information while your account is active and keep other information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the relevant feature, maintain security and business records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Retention periods can vary by data type and feature.

Chirprise provides an in-app account-deletion control. A deletion request removes the account and initiates deletion of associated profiles, alarms, social records, and stored user media from our active systems. Limited records may remain where required by law, for security or fraud prevention, or temporarily in provider backups until they are overwritten through normal retention cycles.

Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, application-integrity checks, and server-side authorization rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Chirprise is not directed to children under 13, and users must meet the minimum age presented during registration. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to Chirprise, contact us so we can investigate and delete it as appropriate.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can update many account settings, control permissions through your device, disable analytics in Chirprise, and request account deletion from the app. You may also contact us to submit a privacy request. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.

International processing

Chirprise and its service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have data-protection laws different from those where you live.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Chirprise changes. We will revise the effective date and provide additional notice when required by law.
