About Anchor & Rise
Anchor & Rise LLC is an independent studio in Rhode Island, founded by Michael LaBreche. We build thoughtful apps, with room for both useful ideas and unexpected humor.
Why the name
The name reflects how we think good products should be built. The anchor is the dependable core: the part people need to trust. The rise is everything that helps an experience feel easier, warmer, and more rewarding.
Our flagship app, Chirprise, brings that idea to mornings. It is now in testing on Android and iOS, bringing together personal alarms, trusted video Chirps, six games, a companion you dress up, Nest rooms, and achievements.
Founder story
Founder Michael LaBreche knows personally how difficult waking up can be. Friends and family bring him the greatest joy in his life, which led to the idea behind Chirprise: what if the people who care about you could become a positive part of your wake-up routine?
That question became a broader purpose for Anchor & Rise—to build thoughtful tools that help people through moments that feel hard, confusing, or isolating.
